The institute was initially founded in the city of Salamanca, Spain, on February 21, 2008. Since 2010, the institute begins activities in Stockholm, and since June 17, 2017, it is registered as a civil association, becoming the first research and education centre for international relations and diplomacy in Sweden and the entire Nordic region. There is not in this entire region an institute that promotes studies of European integration and that defends the values and principles of the European Union such as respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights.
Our mission is to prepare leaders with positive action to make a difference in building a better world. The EIIS offers a comprehensive education with values and principles that will help you in your professional life, as well as to assume your social responsibilities.
On the other hand, the EIIS aims to provide research and academic programs to serve key decision makers in the public and private sectors. It also provides an independent forum for dialogue between international organizations, foreign ministries and academic institutions, effectively supporting the development of mutually beneficial solutions to key issues.
EIIS is proud to be a founding member of the Iber-Euroamerica Consortium, a joint initiative in which universities and academic institutions from Europe and America participate. The Consortium has the support, as members and strategic partners, of the European Union – Latin America and the Caribbean Foundation (EULAC), of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) and is a member of the Bi-regional Academic Council of the Permanent Academic Forum.
