EIIS supports the Call for Papers for the XII Workshop of the Jean Monnet Network BRIDGE Watch in Montevideo

The European Institute of International Studies is pleased to support the Call for Papers for the XII Workshop of the Jean Monnet Network BRIDGE Watch, which will take place on 6 October 2026 at the Universidad de la República (Udelar), in Montevideo, Uruguay, in hybrid format.

The event is part of the Jean Monnet Network BRIDGE Watch – Values and Democracy in the EU and Latin America, a Policy Debate initiative co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, and is organised in collaboration with the Latin American Center of European Studies (LACES). This edition will focus on the theme “Green Transition and Sustainable Societies”.

The Workshop is organised by Professor Aline Beltrame de Moura, Director of the EU Studies Chair at the European Institute of International Studies, together with the BRIDGE Watch academic network and partner institutions. The support of EIIS reflects the Institute’s commitment to promoting academic debate on European Union external action, sustainability, democratic governance and EU–Latin America relations.

Academics and researchers are invited to submit scientific papers in English, Spanish or Portuguese, either individually or in co-authorship. Undergraduate students are also encouraged to participate, preferably in collaboration with master’s or doctoral students. Full papers must be submitted by 4 September 2026, 11:59 p.m. Uruguay time (GMT-3), through the online submission form.

Selected papers will be presented during the Workshop and may be considered for publication in the Thematic Dossier of the 12th Edition of the Latin American Journal of European Studies, following a double-blind peer review process. The most outstanding contribution will receive the Jean Monnet BRIDGE Watch Scientific Merit Award.
